Argentine national team and Barcelona club defender Javier Mascherano has not been able to control his fiery temperament on the football pitch many times and has earned more than one red card.

However, this time the 29-year-old footballer stood out with particularly unsportsmanlike behavior. During the World Cup Qualifying match between the national teams of Argentina and Ecuador, J. Mascherano was knocked down and had to be taken off the field by medics.

However, for unknown reasons, the defender got angry at the man driving the medical stretcher and pushed him in the back. The referee noticed the Argentine's ugly behavior and showed him a red card, which Mascherano disagreed with and started arguing with the match referee.

Other players and stadium security had to intervene in the incident, until ultimately Mascherano was persuaded by his teammates to leave the field.

After the match, the defender publicly apologized for his behavior on his "Facebook" social network profile: "I am very sorry for my behavior - nobody can justify it."
