London's Chelsea club officially announced that they have reached an agreement with Leverkusen's Bayer team regarding the transfer of 22-year-old forward Andre Schuerrle.

According to the official statement, the club still needs to finalize the paperwork and come to an agreement with the player, and the German will still need to undergo a medical examination.

It is said that this transfer was hastened by coach Jose Mourinho's return. The Portuguese has already started forming the team for the next season.

A.Schuerrle became a Bayer member in 2011, when he moved from Mainz club to Leverkusen for 8 million euros. The transfer fee to Chelsea has not been announced yet.

The German team will replace the departing footballer with Hamburg club's forward Heung-Min Son.
