Today, on May 22, the IV round matches of the "Sunday Football League" were played.
The central round matches took place at the "Kalnų Park" stadium, where the previous group leaders, "Navigators," met the also inexperienced "Speakers." The match ended with a score of 4-1 in favor of the "Speakers" club, which became the new leader of Group A. According to the manager of the "Speakers" club, Vytaras Radzevičius, the teams played evenly and the result does not reflect the actual level of the teams. V. Radzevičius also celebrated the fact that the former sports commentator L. Kunigėlis, who returned to the club after a long break, scored a goal for the "Speakers" team. It's interesting to note that the FIFA category referee P. Malžinskas officiated the match, who also officiated the Baltic Cup match between the Lithuanian and Latvian youth national teams yesterday.
In another Group A match, the young "EuroFootball.com" team suffered their third consecutive loss. "EF.lt" had to admit the superiority of the Kaunas club "Viči" this time. "Viči" achieved their first victory in the "Sunday Football League." "EuroFootball.com" took the lead after a goal at the beginning of the match, scored by R. Baratinskas following a goalkeeper error, but in the second half, "Viči" not only managed to equalize the score after an 11th-minute penalty but also surpassed it with a strike from the right side.
In the final Group A matches, "Pietų IV" couldn't resist against "Tygelis" and lost to them 2-5. This was already the third consecutive win for "Tygelis" in the "SFL."
In Group B, the young "Kiemo" team is still striving to achieve their first victory, but they couldn't do so in this round either. The 0-1 loss to "Viesulas" leaves "Kiemo" with only theoretical possibilities to play in the highest "SFL" league in the autumn.
In other Group B matches where the favorites were "Ozas" and "Užupis" clubs, no surprises were recorded. "Ozas" defeated the "Lics" team 3-0, while "Užupis" won 2-0 against the "Narbutas&Co" club.
