On Friday night, in the Confederations Cup tournament taking place in Brazil, the B group matches were played.
The teams that had topped the group after the first round, Nigerian footballers and the Uruguayan national team, met.
The representatives from South America started better in the first part of the match and took the lead in the 19th minute after a precise shot by defender Diego Lugano.
The Nigerian eleven managed to equalize the score in the first half. In the 37th minute, John Obi Mikel, a goalkeeper from the "Chelsea" club, scored.

In the 51st minute, the advantage was restored to the Uruguayan national team by former Madrid "Atletico" and Milan "Inter" forward Diego Forlan.
As later became clear, D. Forlan's goal in this match was decisive. Having secured three points, the Uruguayans maintained the chance to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
In Group B, after two rounds, the European and World champions Spain are leading. In the final round, Uruguay will face Thailand, while the Nigerian footballers will face the Spanish challenge.
