This weekend in Russia, regular championship matches took place. The first match of the 9th round took place in Yaroslavl. The local team "Shinnik" met with St. Petersburg's "Zenit." "Zenit" had the upper hand throughout the match but left the field defeated by a minimal score of 1-0 due to an error by their goalkeeper.

At the same time, in Kazan, "Rubin" and Grozny's "Terek" were facing off. "Rubin" took the lead in the fourth minute of the game, and in the beginning of the second half, they could have doubled their lead with a penalty kick, but the "Terek" goalkeeper saved the team. With 12 minutes left to play, "Terek" managed to equalize the score.

Continuing to delight their fans, the "Moskva" club defeated Tomsk's "Tom" 4-1 this time. During this match, "Moskva" forward D. Kirichenko scored a hat-trick, and the entire game was played by Lithuania's national team defender R. Džiaukštas. After this victory, "Moskva" returned to the top position on the tournament table.

After the resignation of Moscow's "Dinamo" coach O.Romantsev, "Dinamo" finally broke their streak of failures - the "police officers" played against the absolute league outsider "Rostov" and won with a score of 3-0.

The remaining four round matches took place on Sunday. Moscow's "Torpedo" faced Moscow's "Lokomotiv." "Torpedo" failed to capitalize on numerous opportunities and had to acknowledge the superiority of "Lokomotiv" with a minimal score, who celebrated a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal by M. Izmailov. Meanwhile, Perm's "Amkar" and Vladikavkaz's "Alania" played to a draw.

Ramenskoye's "Saturn" met with Samara's "Krylya Sovetov" on their home field. "Saturn" players scored first, but the course of the match showed that it wouldn't end with that result. Players from both teams had opportunities to score, but at the end of the game, luck smiled on "Krylya Sovetov" players, who equalized the score.

The central round match took place in Moscow between "Spartak" and "CSKA." Two of the championship leaders and UEFA Cup winners faced off. This match was interesting not only due to the opponents, but also because the refereeing team was from Germany, led by F.Mayer. "Spartak" started the game more actively, and in the 28th minute, D. Bojarintsev scored. More goals were not scored in the first half.

After the break, the teams took the field with unchanged line-ups, but in the second half, "CSKA" began to attack "Spartak's" goal.
