Lithuanian national football team goalkeeper Arvydas Novikovas has signed a contract with the German second Bundesliga club "Aue". In this team, the Lithuanian is expected to play for three years.
After the contract with the Scottish Edinburgh "Hearts" team ended, A. Novikovas did not stay clubless for long. He received interest from several teams, and eventually signed a contract with the German "Aue" club.
Just a few months ago, Novikovas told Futbolo.TV that he would definitely not stay in Scotland, and that he was very interested in trying his luck in Germany, where a different style of football dominates - faster, more technical, not based on physical play with high balls, like in Scotland.
On the club's official website, team representatives were excited about their new acquisition: "We believe that A. Novikovas will quickly and successfully integrate into the team's game, it is a very successful addition for us. The Lithuanian has international match experience and represents the national team."
In the last season, "Aue" finished in 15th position and fought for survival in the league. Their home stadium accommodates almost 16,000 spectators.
