World and European champions from Spain, aiming for another title, set new records.

Yesterday Vicente del Bosque's protégés crushed Nigeria 3-0 and have not suffered a defeat in 28 consecutive official matches.

The impressive streak began in the 2010 World Cup. The future champions lost 0-1 to Switzerland in the first group match, but then rebounded to beat Honduras 2-0 in the next match.

Overall, in 28 matches, the Spaniards have achieved 24 victories and ended 4 games in a draw. In 18 matches, del Bosque's team kept a "clean sheet."

Spain surpassed the French record - the latter dominated from 1994 to 1999, although in the 1996 European Championship they lost 5-6 to the Czech Republic in a penalty shootout.
