Italian national team leader Mario Balotelli will miss the semi-final of the Confederations Cup with the Spanish national team.
The Italian Football Federation hopes that the 22-year-old forward will be able to help the team in the final or in the match for the third place.
M. Balotelli suffered a thigh muscle injury in the match against Brazil, which Italy lost 2-4.
The semi-final match will be played on June 27. In the other semi-final match on June 26, Brazil and Uruguay will face each other.
