On Wednesday evening, the first semi-final match was played in the Confederations Cup tournament taking place in Brazil.
The tournament and stadium hosts, the Brazilians, challenged the South American champions, the Uruguayan footballers.
At the beginning of the match, neither of the teams were able to impose their playing style, so the ball quickly moved from one side of the field to the other.

To the delight of the gathered spectators at the stadium, Julio Cesar saved Diego Forlan's shot and prevented a goal.
The ball first found the net in the 41st minute, when after a shot by Neymar, the ball fell to Fred's feet, who managed to send it into the goal.
At the beginning of the second half, the Uruguayan national team managed to equalize the score in this match. In the 48th minute, "Napoli" striker Edinson Cavani leveled the score.
Almost the entire second half the game was even, but as the match neared its end, Brazil, wanting to avoid extra time, took initiative and started pressing their opponents.
The tactic paid off in the 86th minute. The stadium erupted in cheers when midfielder Paulinho headed the ball into Fernando Muslera's goal.
After this goal, Oscar Tabarez's players tried to fight back, pressing their opponents towards Julio Cesar's goal, but their efforts were in vain and Brazil advanced to the final of the Confederations Cup.
The next semi-final match will be played on Thursday, where Spain and Italy will face each other. The tournament final will be played overnight from Sunday to Monday, at 1am Lithuanian time.
