On Thursday, Panevėžys "Ekranas" officially added a midfielder from Serbia, Marko Vučetič, to their team. The football player signed a 2.5-year contract with the Lithuanian champions.

The 26-year-old midfielder, known for his versatility, has been playing for the Macedonian top league club "Bregalnica Štip" since 2011. In the recently concluded championship, the team led by a Serb took 6th place, and M. Vučetič was a solid starting player in both seasons, scoring 6 goals in 59 matches.

Before moving to Macedonia, he played for two years at the "Indjija" club, where he played alongside his former teammate Marko Andjelkovič. With this team, the Serbian player climbed to the highest division of the Serbian league and scored 5 goals in 38 matches.

The fans of "Ekranas" already had the opportunity to see the new player in action. In early June, M. Vučetič arrived for a trial and played the full 90 minutes in a friendly match against "Daugava".

FK "Ekranas" sports director Deimantas Bička doesn't hide his high hopes for this player:

"When Marko Andjelkovič left the team, we were looking for a player who could match him. We hope that M. Vučetič will become one of the leaders of the team and will be able to properly replace M. Andjelkovič," - said D. Bička about the team's new addition.
