On Tuesday, surprises marked the start of the second round of the Lithuanian "A League" championship: "Kaunas" lost another two points, failing to defeat "Šiauliai", while "Vėtra" overcame the unlucky "Atlantas", and "Ekranas" secured their tenth victory.

The championship leader "Ekranas" faced the "Vilnius" club away and after a fierce battle, managed to win with a minimal lead, with team captain M. Savėnas scoring the winning goal for the Panevėžys team.

"Kaunas", defending their champion title, is now eight points behind "Ekranas", failing at home to defeat the "Šiauliai" team, who showed resistance, playing a goalless draw for the first time in the season.

Marijampolė's "Sūduva" surprised by defeating Klaipėda's "Atlantas" at home thanks to M. Uselis' goal, moving ahead of them in the tournament standings and climbing to third position Vilnius' "Vėtra" crushed the absolute underdog "Nevėžis" with a score of 6-0. The capital team scored two goals each by N. Vasiliauskas and E. Blažys.

"Šilutė" continues their successful season, this time defeating "Žalgiris" unexpectedly after another goal by G. Juška, pushing them to the eighth position on the standings board. The next, 11th round matches will take place next Saturday.
