The first half at Highbury Stadium was very interesting. Both teams had opportunities to score. Several times Robert Pires and Thierry Henry (for Arsenal) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Eidur Gudjohnsen (for Chelsea) could have made their mark. The only goal after a penalty area confusion was scored by Jose Reyes in the 45th minute.
The second half changed dramatically. Chelsea simply overwhelmed Arsenal, and in the 51st minute Frank Lampard sent the ball to the net. After this goal, both teams played a bit more cautiously, as they didn't want to take risks, but around the 85th minute, Chelsea's attacking engine started up again. In the 86th minute, Gudjohnsen scores a goal, and Ashley Cole clears the ball from the goal line. Just a minute later, Wayne Bridge strikes into the far corner of the goal, and the result becomes 1-2 in Chelsea's favor. After this goal, Arsenal needs to score at least two more times. Realizing this, they try to press, but time is running out, and the London reds never recover. The match ends 1-2, with Chelsea moving forward, and Arsenal now only able to win the Premier League.

Real Madrid played the first half very calmly, and after a great attack, Raul sent the ball into the net. However, near the end of the half, Giuly's shot from about 20 meters bounced off Roberto Carlos and entered the goal. "Monaco" needs to score at least two goals against Real during the second half to advance to the next stage.
The beginning of the second half was tense at the "Monaco" stadium. However, the French started playing completely differently once on the field.
