On Monday afternoon, another reinforcement was welcomed by the money-loving "AS Monaco" club this summer.

Defender Eric Abidal, who became unnecessary for the "Barcelona" club after more than a decade, returned to the team.

This Frenchman played for "AS Monaco" from 2000 to 2002 and managed to play 23 matches for this team.

In France, the footballer also played for "Lille" and "Lyon" clubs, and in 2007 he moved to Spain from his homeland for 15 million euros and signed a contract with "Barcelona".

Within the ranks of Catalonia, E. Abidal played 193 matches and became one of the most respected footballers within the club.

Unfortunately, in recent seasons, the defender had serious health problems. He had a liver tumor removed, but later it recurred, so he needed a liver transplant.

In the 2012-2013 season, E. Abidal returned to the field, but played only episodically and the "Barcelona" club's management, after consulting with doctors, decided not to renew the contract with this footballer.
