On Saturday in Istanbul, the final of the World Youth Under-20 Championship took place.

In the most important match of the tournament, young footballers from France and Uruguay clashed.

In the first part of the match, led by Paul Pogba, the "Juventus" defenders, the French, had the initiative in their hands, but they failed to turn their advantage into goals.

In the second half, the situation did not change too much and the French footballers led by coach Pierre Mankowski dominated the field, while the opponents from Uruguay tried to take advantage of opportunities to counterattack.

Despite the created opportunities, neither team could score a goal during the normal game time, so the teams had to play an extra half hour.

During the extension, the winner was not determined either, so the winner had to be determined by penalty shootouts from 11 meters.

The French advantage was immediately evident, as goalkeeper Alphonse Areola saved two penalties in a row, while his teammates scored accurately.

The decisive moment was the fourth French penalty, which was successfully converted by defender Dimitri Foulquier, guaranteeing the gold in the championship for his compatriots.

France became the only country whose footballers managed to win both the world and European championships in all age groups.
