On Tuesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed they have acquired striker Edinson Cavani from the Italian team Napoli.

The Italian vice-champions will receive a compensation of 63 million euros for this footballer. Team strategist Rafael Benitez will likely use this money to strengthen the team.

It was reported in the media that the clubs had agreed on this transfer some time ago, but the official announcement of this move was delayed.

Edinson Cavani began his career in his homeland, at the "Danubio" club. In 2007, the footballer moved to the "Palermo" club.

In 2010, the striker moved to Napoli on loan, and in 2011 he became a full-fledged member of the team. In total, he left Naples for 17 million euros.

Last season was impressive for E. Cavani - in 34 Serie A matches, the footballer scored 29 goals and was the top scorer in the Italian championship.

In total, wearing the Napoli shirt, the Uruguayan played 138 games, scored 104 goals, and in the 2011/12 season helped the team win the country's cup, and last year took second place in the Serie A championship.

It is said that after this transfer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will leave the Paris Saint-Germain team, most likely to join Real Madrid.

E. Cavani signed a five-year contract with the club and will wear the jersey marked with the number 9.
