At the Aukstaitija Stadium, the hosts Panevezio "Ekranas" and Habnarfjordur FH tested their strength against each other. The Lithuanian champions suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the first match.

At the beginning of the first half, the "Ekranas" footballers demonstrated their dominance on the field and controlled the ball for a long time, but after a while the game leveled out and both teams attacked equally.

The first real opportunity to score was for the young Dovydas Norvilas, but the opponent's goalkeeper reacted confidently to his shot.

However, in the 29th minute an unexpected goal fell into Tadas Kauneckas' goal, when after a free kick, Peturas Vidarsson head the FH team into the lead.

At the end of the first half, the Panevezys team had a great chance to equalize the score, but Vaidas Slavickas hit the side post directly, and the rebound fell under Uchenna Umeh's feet, but the goalkeeper quickly snatched the ball from under the player's feet.

In the second half, "Ekranas" also tried to press the opponents again, but they failed to score a quick goal.

During the remaining time, the Panevezys team actively fought in the opponent's half of the field, but when the referee blew the whistle announcing the end of the match, it became clear that the guests from Iceland celebrated a victory with a score of 0-1.

The next decisive UEFA Champions League qualification match will take place next Tuesday, when the "Ekranas" defending the honor of Lithuania will play in Iceland.
