"Screen" coach: all strong sides of Iceland were neutralized © EuroFootball.com

"Ekranas" at home suffered a minimal defeat - 0:1 loss to guests from Iceland. Although luck was not on the side of the hosts in this match, the team does not give up and hopes for a rehabilitation in the away game next week.

After the match, FKE coach Valdas Dambrauskas was satisfied with his players and their demonstrated game, but the strategist stated that this time luck was on Iceland's side. According to V. Dambrauskas, nothing has been lost in this stage of the UEFA Champions League yet, as the second leg is still ahead.

- Valdas, do you remember such games where the ball hits the post four times and just doesn't go in?

- It's hard, of course, to remember such games and sometimes it seems like someone above doesn't want us to succeed, to win. But these were just the first games. The second leg will be in Iceland and I don't think it will be much different. Iceland has a one-goal advantage, they are playing at home now, and I don't think they will drastically change their style of play. Despite the defeat, we showed today that we can play and that we are not a bad team, maybe just written off too early. I truly believe that things will be different in Iceland.

- What was missing in that situation when the goal was missed?

- Just luck, probably. I won't be wrong in saying that the better team lost today. I think the players almost one hundred percent delivered what we asked for. The analysis and work in training definitely paid off. All of Iceland's strengths were neutralized. Of course, maybe there was a bit of lack of concentration at the moment when the goal was scored. It's a shame that Iceland managed to capitalize on that opportunity. And we didn't capitalize on our chances, but even despite the loss, we were worthy of victory.
