Forward Robert Lewandowski of Borussia Dortmund admits that he was planning to part ways with the club this summer, but he is ready to stay for another season.
Last season, the Polish national team member shone in Europe, attracting the attention of top clubs. However, the closest target was Bayern Munich.
The "Yellow-Blacks" were determined to keep their leader in the team at all costs, rejecting all offers, even though his current contract expires next summer.
"I must say that I will stay in Dortmund," Lewandowski told the influential German newspaper "Bild."
The decision was welcomed by the general director of Borussia, who admitted that he had no doubts about the Polish player's future in the current team.
Last season, Lewandowski scored 36 goals in his account.
