One of the leaders of the Yerevan club "Pyunik", Varazdat Haroyan, hopes to see a successful performance from his team in the Lithuanian capital on Thursday.
The day before the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Europa League against the team of Vilnius city football club "Žalgiris", the Armenians held a half-hour training session at the LFF Stadium with an optimistic mindset.
On Wednesday evening, the opponents of Žalgiris, who tested the battle field in the rain, assured that the current weather conditions in Lithuania are very favorable for playing football, and the artificial turf is common.
"We have played many matches on artificial turf in Armenia, so this will not be new to us. Speaking about the temperature, I can say that cooler, more humid weather is very suitable for football," said the main midfielder of Yerevan's "Pyunik" team, V. Haroyan, who has already made his debut in the Armenian national team.
"We feel great. We came to Vilnius to fight for victory. No matter what competition we participate in, we always aim for the maximum. We are young and ambitious.
Before the match, we researched about "Žalgiris". Finding information was not difficult. We analyzed the opponents' matches, looking for weaknesses. We believe that we are properly prepared for the duel. We will strive for a positive result, even though we are playing away and are not considered favorites," said the 20-year-old V. Haroyan.
