In England a war is raging, with Wayne Rooney at the center of it. While Manchester United club insists they have no intention of selling the forward, others are talking about acquiring the footballer.

The main contenders for W. Rooney are London clubs Chelsea and Arsenal, according to espnfc.com.

The coach of the latter team, Arsene Wenger, has already stated that their club can afford to pay W. Rooney's weekly salary.

"Rooney has a contract with his team, so the decision will be made by Manchester United. However, we definitely wouldn't have any problems with the salary that W. Rooney requires," said A. Wenger.
