After yesterday's news that the head coach of Barcelona resigned, potential candidates replacing the Spaniard began to flicker in the media.
Yesterday at a press conference held by the Catalan club, it was announced about Tito Vilanova. Many candidates have emerged to take over the helm of Barca, however Gerardo Martino and Luis Enrique are the most realistic contenders.
Today in the press, the Argentine's name is particularly mentioned. The strategist coached the legendary Newell's Old Boys club last season, with which he won the Argentine championship.
L. Enrique's name is also mentioned among the main contenders. However, the former footballer recently parted ways with Vigo's Celta, so Barcelona would have to pay a ransom of 3 million euros for the coach.
Other candidates vying to take over as Barcelona coach:
- Michael Laudrup (England, Swansea)
- Marcelo Bielsa (free agent)
- Ernesto Valverde (Spain, Athletic)
- Andre Villas-Boas (England, Tottenham)
- Roberto Mancini (free agent)
