On Thursday, the Poznan "Lech" team arriving in Vilnius is struggling in the Polish championship. In the second round of the national championship, the country's vice champions played to a 1-1 draw with "Cracovia" and remain without a win.
In just a few days, the "Lech" footballers will face the "Žalgiris" team in the first match of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League in the capital.
In the first half of the matches against "Cracovia", neither team managed to create real scoring opportunities. Although the game picked up pace after the break, the goal had to wait until the 83rd minute, when the first to reach the ball at the goalkeeper's poorly cleared ball was the Serbian legionnaire of the Poznan club, Vojo Ubiparipas. At that time, the Cracovia team already had ten players, as defender Marcin Kus was sent off in the 75th minute for two yellow cards.
However, soon after, in the presence of 14 thousand spectators, the guests strangely restored the balance: Saidi Ntibazonkiza passed the ball from the left flank towards the goal, and the ball, untouched by any player, ended up in the net.
After these equalizers, "Lech" is in 8th place in the league table with two points, while "Cracovia", earning their first point, is in twelfth place.
