Pepe Reina, who has been defending the gates of "Liverpool" for eight years, is moving to Italy - the footballer has been loaned to the club "Napoli".
However, the agreement officially confirmed on Monday did not avoid controversy, as Reina posted a public letter in which he did not hide his displeasure with the circumstances.
"Naturally: I am not happy to leave for another team without being informed beforehand," said Reina. "I believe I deserve more, although I understand that tough decisions have to be made in football."
He continued: "I have told the coach that I want to play for Liverpool and the situation would only change if an offer from "Barcelona" club came, as it would give me the opportunity to return home. Since there was no offer, I was ready to fight for my place on the field, but the decision of the officials was different."
This summer, Reina's place in the starting lineup will be taken by the Belgian Simon Mignolet, who was acquired.
