The second season beginning in the main roster of "Barcelona," Cristian Tello has signed a new contract with the Catalan club. It will be valid until the summer of 2018.
The previous 21-year-old striker's contract was valid until June 30, 2016.
By mutual agreement, C. Tello's buyout clause has been more than doubled from 10 million euros to 25 million euros. This is the amount any team would have to pay if they wish to acquire the player without direct negotiations with Barcelona.
In the last season, C. Tello played 34 official matches in the main squad of the Catalan club and scored 8 goals.
The footballer has repeatedly emphasized that he wants to continue playing for Barcelona, so he had no doubt that his agent would quickly and smoothly negotiate the details of the new contract.
"I am satisfied with my performance in the last season. Of course, I want to spend every minute on the pitch, but now I understand that the time given to me by the team's coach is enough. I feel great in the main team, and more experienced teammates help me feel the game even better. I think they know that speed is my strong point, so whenever I am free, I usually get the ball. In the end, my teammates do not hesitate to pass to me. When we are trying to attack the opponent's goal pushing through the center and the attack stalls, everyone knows that we can try combinations on the flank," the striker confirmed.
