Poznan's "Lech" continues to struggle: in the third round of the Polish championship, the team played a 0-0 draw away with Lubin's "Zaglebie", who earned their first point.
Let's not forget that on Thursday, the country's vice-champions "Lech" will face Vilnius "Zalgiris" in the return leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round. The Lithuanian champions won the first match 1-0, so the hosts will need to win by more than one goal in order to progress to the next round.
In this match, "Lech" played much more actively and had several opportunities to score, but failed to break through the opponents' goalkeeper and remain in ninth place in the league table. "Zaglebie" is ranked fifteenth. After the match, away fans, like in Vilnius, demanded explanations from the players and expressed dissatisfaction with coach Mariusz Rumak.
"We are missing one final pass in the attack, but it's hard to fix when we have to play every few days. If I didn't see any solutions, I would immediately submit my resignation to the club president. I trust in my abilities," said 36-year-old Rumak.
"We didn't play badly, so it's a shame that we couldn't secure a victory," added "Lech" forward Vojo Ubiparip from Serbia. "We just lacked one precise attack, but we definitely haven't lost optimism before the game against 'Zalgiris', as the game is improving. Sometimes we just lack speed and accuracy in the final phase of the attack."
