Luis Suarez once again confirmed his desire to leave Liverpool and represent a club competing in the UEFA Champions League.
The Uruguayan expressed his wish to leave at the beginning of the summer, but so far the leaders of the English team have refused to let him go. If an agreement is not reached, Suarez will submit an official written request to be sold by the end of this week.
According to Suarez, Liverpool promised him last year that they would not stand in his way if a place in the Champions League was not secured.
"Last season I gave my all, so now I want Liverpool to keep their promise," he told The Guardian. "Last year I had a great offer from a strong European club, but I understood that without Champions League I would face no obstacles."
So far, the only concrete offers for Suarez have come from Arsenal in London, but Liverpool has not been tempted by their 46 million euro offer. It is doubtful whether the "Reds" will agree to sell one of England's brightest Premier League stars to a fierce competitor for higher positions in the tournament table.
"I am 26 years old, so I have to play in the Champions League. I believe I have done enough in my career to deserve it. Now I have the opportunity and I want to take it," he added. "I don't feel betrayed, but the club has promised me and I hope we can come to an agreement."
Last season he scored thirty goals in 44 matches.
