The British "Sky Sports" reports that "Barcelona" has submitted a fresh offer to London's "Chelsea" club for the acquisition of defender David Luiz, but it was rejected.
This summer, the Catalans acquired Brazilian talent Neymar, but one of the most problematic positions remains unstrengthened.
London's "Chelsea" defender D. Luiz is one of the options to strengthen the central defender position.
The new team coach Gerardo Tata Martino has also set his sights on defender Santiago Vergini from his former club "Newell's Old Boys."
Meanwhile, the "aristocrats'" strategist Jose Mourinho recently stated that the London team does not plan to sell either D. Luiz or goalkeeper Juan Mata.
The amount offered to the "Chelsea" club is undisclosed.
