Vilnius "Žalgiris" coach Marekas Zubas did not know how to celebrate after the triumph in Poznan. His team, with an overall result of 2:2 against "Lech" (1:0 at home, 1:2 away), advanced to the fourth stage of the Europa League qualifiers, which had never been seen in Lithuania before, thanks to an away goal.
However, the Pole M. Zubas closed the door not to just anyone, but to a Polish club. The fact that this would be quite painful for him as a Pole, the specialist had already mentioned before.
"On one hand, I am happy that my team won. But on the other hand, I regret the failure of the Poles", said M. Zubas at the press conference after the match.
Still, the coach could smile because this victory pleased the people of Lithuania. However, Zubas was annoyed by two missed goals that prevented them from taking a second victory out of two from Poznan.
Meanwhile, "Lech" coach Mariuszas Rumakas expressed regret that although his players were bursting with the desire to win, Lady Luck simply did not smile upon them.
He did not blame important players' injuries, but found another reason to complain.
"We played every three days, so we couldn't properly prepare for the duel against Žalgiris," complained M. Rumakas.
The "Lech" players competed in the Polish football championship both before the first and before the return match against "Žalgiris". In turn, the Žalgiris players only had the match before the return match."
