EFA delegate Kazimieras Oleszekas confirmed that the Poznan "Lech" club will face financial sanctions for a banner insulting Lithuanians raised by fans during a match, reports "Eurosport."

During the third qualifying round of the Europa League match in Poznan between "Lech" and Vilnius "Žalgiris," at the end of the first half, Polish fans raised a banner that read "Lithuanian shame, a Pole against a Polish gentleman."

K.Oleszekas, who often watches international matches, confirmed that the club can expect a financial penalty.

He did not speculate on the amount of the fine that "Lech" will receive, as this will be decided by UEFA's disciplinary committee.

"I am only interested in how they hung up that banner and why the club did not ensure that it was taken down," pondered the UEFA representative.
