On Sunday afternoon, a match was played at "Wembley" stadium to win the "Community Shield" trophy. As usual, the winners of the English Premier League and the FA Cup compete for it.

This year, the country's champions "Manchester United" and FA Cup winners "Wigan" club, who had dropped to the second tier of English football, fought for it.

Both of these teams changed their head coach after the end of last season: the long-time "Red Devils" strategist Sir Alex Ferguson, who retired from the top football, was replaced by "Everton" coach David Moyes, while Owen Coyle, who previously led the "Bolton" team, replaced Roberto Martinez who left for the aforementioned "Irish" team.

At the beginning of the match, as expected, the initiative was taken by the "Manchester United" team, but the opponents did not press hard.

Moyes' players broke forward in the 6th minute, when striker Robin van Persie scored a goal after a positional attack.

After the goal, the English champions played smartly with the ball and did not let go of the initiative, denying their opponents any hundred percent chances to create.

In the second half, the picture did not change much and the "Manchester United" team controlled the course of the game and the result.

In the 59th minute, the "Red Devils" turned their initiative into another goal. R. van Persie scored his second goal, although the ball rolled into Scott Carson's goal after a big ricochet.

In the remaining half hour, the "Wigan" players did not create any serious chances, so David Moyes' "Manchester United" players maintained their advantage and celebrated the victory and the won "Community Shield" trophy.
