The leader of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (LLRA) Valdemar Tomaševskis "exposed" an unprecedented conspiracy theory. It turns out that the anti-Lithuanian poster raised by the most ardent supporters of Poznań's "Lech" in the stands "Lithuanians, kneel before the Polish master" was... the work of Lithuanian special services.
Although the Poznań police are investigating the incident and have already clarified many of its circumstances, the politician has a different opinion, which he expressed on the LNK television news program. It is possible to speculate that the commotion was caused by Lithuanian officials, somehow infiltrated into the ranks of "Lech" fans and able to persuade them to behave provocatively.
"I think this is the work of special services. It wouldn't be the first time. Perhaps these are mixed forces - you know, they usually serve several agencies, but mostly ours," said the Member of the European Parliament, whose party is part of the ruling coalition in parliament.
Valdemar Tomaševskis, known for his critical attitude towards decisions made in Lithuania, did not reveal whether he intends to appeal to representatives of the Polish voivodeship, who have already punished the "Lech" team by closing the scandalous stand for one match. He also did not comment on the sarcastic statement made a few days ago by fans of the Polish club, mocking the ongoing investigation and not disavowing the content of the poster, which is also related to the Lithuanian special services.
Meanwhile, in Poland, there is an active campaign to apologize to Lithuania for the content of the poster. "Gazeta Wyborcza" has already collected over 13,000 signatures of citizens expressing regret, and a multitude of the country's intellectuals, diplomats, and other high-ranking officials have already apologized for the incident, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski.
