London's "West Ham" confirmed on their official website that they have acquired 29-year-old winger Stewart Downing from the "Liverpool" club.

These negotiations have been ongoing for some time, and today the Englishman was already introduced in London. The transfer fee has not been disclosed yet, but it is believed that Liverpool will receive 5 million pounds for the player.

S.Downing joined the "Reds" team in 2011 from "Aston Villa". In two seasons, the versatile player played 91 matches and scored 7 goals.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to play for the "West Ham" club. I am ready and eager to play in the first Premier League matches in England," the Englishman officially told the website.

Stewart Downing started his professional career at "Middlesbrough," later moved to "Aston Villa," and finally to "Liverpool."
