The team of the Vilnius city football club "Žalgiris" has strengthened its forces before the decisive battles in the Europa League and the Lithuanian championship.
The team has been joined by a 21-year-old French player Serge Nyuiadzis, who plays in the position of a forward and a winger.
A former youth player of French club OGC Nice, Nyuiadzis represented the French U-17 and U-19 youth teams a few years ago.
Last season, the newcomer to "Žalgiris" played several games for Bulgarian champions CSKA Sofia, scoring one goal.
"We were looking for a player who could strengthen our attacking line. S. Nyuiadzis meets our requirements. He is capable of playing both as a forward and an attacking winger," says the sports director of the VMFD "Žalgiris" team, Mindaugas Nikoličius.
"We hope that the newcomer will quickly integrate into the team and be useful in the Europa League and Lithuanian championship matches. Nyuiadzis' integration should be facilitated by the fact that coach Marek Zubas speaks French, and the player himself speaks English.
The fact that the player represented the French youth teams should leave no doubt about his qualifications, although his career in Bulgaria did not go as successfully as expected.
Under one coach, S. Nyuiadzis was an important player at CSKA Sofia, but with the arrival of another strategist, his role in the team completely changed. In "Žalgiris," Nyuiadzis faces a new challenge," Nikoličius states.
In the "Žalgiris" team, Nyuiadzis will wear the jersey marked with the number 99. The player will be officially introduced at the beginning of next week, before the trip to Austria, where Žalgiris will play UEFA Europa League fourth qualifying round match against Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
