Madrid's "Atletico" officially announced that they have extended the contract until 2018 with the team's striker Diego Costa.
The 24-year-old footballer was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, but decided to stay in sunny Spain.
"I am happy that the club and the fans trust me. This moment is exciting and I am very happy to continue playing for Atletico," said D.Costa.
The striker arrived in Madrid back in 2007, but after two years he was sold to Real Valladolid, who had to say goodbye to the player in 2010, when he returned to Atletico.
Last season in the "Primera" championship, D.Costa entered the field 31 times and scored 10 goals.
