In a survey of a German magazine, in which "Bundesliga" players voted, Berlin goalkeeper Marcelinho was chosen as Germany's player of the year.

Marcelinho, who scored 18 goals and helped "Hertha" finish in fourth place in the league table, received 35.8% of the 232 votes from participating professionals in the survey. In second place was Bayern Munich goalkeeper Michael Ballack with only 14.2% of the votes.

Felix Magath, who helped Bayern win the double (German championship and German cup), was chosen as the best coach of the year with 26.7% of the votes.

The title of the best goalkeeper went to "Hannover 96" goalkeeper Robert Enke.
