London's "Arsenal" coach refused to blame the summer after the lost match, during which they failed to acquire any high-class footballers.
On Saturday, the first Premier League match in England took place, in which the "Gunners" team suffered a painful defeat against "Aston Villa" with a score of 1-3.
"Arsenal" was particularly interested in Gonzalo Higuain this summer, but he moved to "Napoli", as well as Luiz Gustavo, who recently signed a contract with "Wolfsburg". The team was especially connected to Luis Suarez and Wayne Rooney, but the latter are likely to stay in their current clubs.
"Did we need to win this match with the players we had on the field today? That's a question for me and I will say yes," said A. Wenger after the match.
"If we didn't spend money on those players, it's because we couldn't find them. We are actively looking for reinforcements and everyone knows we want to buy several players. I admit that I am to blame for this defeat and apologize to the fans," the Frenchman concluded.
