Yesterday, somewhat unexpectedly, Southampton club officially announced that they acquired forward Pablo Osvaldo from Roma for 17 million euros.
This summer, the 27-year-old footballer's future in Italy has been unclear for some time, and ultimately the Italian decided to continue his career in the English Premier League.
The Italian national team forward will sign a four-year contract with Southampton.
P. Osvaldo spent the last two seasons in Roma. Earlier, he played for Espanyol in Barcelona for a year.
Last season, the Italian scored 17 goals in 31 appearances for Roma and helped the team secure sixth place in the Serie A championship.
