Paris Saint-Germain officially announced that the club has extended Marco Verratti's contract until 2018.
The 20-year-old footballer was linked with a move this summer. Especially, Italian club Real Madrid, coached by Carlo Ancelotti, showed interest.
PSG officials were pleased with M. Verratti's debut last season and immediately extended his contract, putting an end to all doubts about the future of the defender.
"We are pleased to announce that we have signed a new contract with Marco Verratti. The player showed his ambition and determination last season," the official website writes.
The Italian national team player arrived at PSG in the summer of 2012. In one season with Paris' team, the defender played 36 matches, but did not make a significant impact.
He began his professional career in Italy with the club "Pescara" in 2008.
