The Lithuanian youth national team (up to 21 years old) continues its preparation camp before the match with their Spanish counterparts. The only player who did not join the team is Tomas Tamošauskas. According to head coach Vitalijus Stankevičius, there are no injuries in the team so far.
"Our players, who currently play for both Lithuanian and Latvian clubs, are in good physical shape because they have already played an average of 16 matches. So, they already have some game experience this season," said the coach. "The team's morale is good, and we hope it stays that way after the match against the Spaniards."
The youth team's strategist claims that the Spanish team is hard to predict, but they understand the opponent's goals perfectly: "We have analyzed several match videos, but the Spanish U-21 team is not stable, they change players, so it's uncertain what kind of game to expect in this match. Naturally, the Spaniards will try to defeat us at home, aim to score quickly, and secure victory as soon as possible. We will emphasize defense first, then counterattacks."
"Most people talk about the Spanish team as the strongest opponents, but we should not forget about Serbia, which plays high-level football. Our group is not one of the easiest, I would say the opposite - very tough. We have countries that live for football, I would call them football nations. We are not going to Spain to lose," shared V. Stankevičius about the team's preparation mood.
