During today's UEFA ceremony, the best football player of the past season who plays in Europe was also revealed.
Three players competed for this title - Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), and Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), who ultimately became the best.
After a vote among journalists, it was revealed that French national team and Bayern winger F. Ribery was the most deserving of this award. Argentinean Messi took second place, and Portuguese Ronaldo took third.
Last season, the 30-year-old player triumphed with Bayern in three tournaments - Bundesliga, Champions League, and Germany Cup.
For some time, it was believed that the Frenchman would likely become the best in Europe. Last season, F. Ribery played 43 matches and scored 11 goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi scored more goals last season than F. Ribery, however, neither of these players managed to win the most important tournament in Europe.
It is worth mentioning that Real Madrid's forward was the top scorer in the 2012-13 Champions League (12 goals). Ronaldo did not attend the ceremony as he traveled with the team to play friendly matches.
