London's Chelsea officially announced that they have acquired 21-year-old winger Christian Atsu from the Porto team, but this season he will play for Vitesse club.
As stated on the official club website, the member of the Ghana national team will sign a five-year contract with the London team, and will spend one season in the Netherlands.
C. Atsu has recently been mentioned in the British press. According to various reports, several other English clubs were interested in the winger, but the 'Blues' were the first to rush to acquire the Ghanaian.
The footballer joined Porto in 2011. Also, he was loaned to Rio Ave in Vila do Condé for one season (2011/12).
Last season, C. Atsu made 4 assists and scored once in 28 appearances.
So far, the transfer fee has not been disclosed, but it is believed that Chelsea paid around £3.5 million for the 21-year-old winger.
