On the last day of player transfers in the football world, various offers were presented, hoping that the deals would be confirmed.
One of them was an attempt by London's Tottenham to acquire Chelsea forward Fernando Torres.
Andre Villas-Boas' coached team offered the "Blues" simply to make a swap and exchange the Spaniard, who cost 50 million pounds in the past, for forward Emmanuel Adebayor.
The transfer was prevented from becoming a reality by Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho, who although admires the African player's style of play, decided that he would not be more useful to the team than the current forward Demba Ba.
