Just after the transfer window closed, the Italian press reported that Turin's "Juventus" is determined to lure Madrid's "Real" midfielder Xabi Alonso next summer.
"Tuttosport" informs that the Italian champions intend to take advantage of X. Alonso's expiring contract, which will end with the royal club in June 2014.
Antonio Conte is concerned about Andrea Pirlo who plays in the same position, and is considering the possibility of parting ways with "Bianconeri" after this season, so the Spanish player would be a great reinforcement.
The 31-year-old footballer is currently recovering from an injury, and he is not talking about renewing his contract and most likely does not intend to extend it. It is also not ruled out that X. Alonso could return to "Liverpool".
The midfielder arrived in Madrid in 2009, when he left the "Reds" after five seasons. In four seasons at "Real" club, X. Alonso played 192 matches and scored 6 goals.
