Former Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez has stated that during this summer's transfer window he could have moved to Real Madrid.
The defender, who left the Bavarian team, is delighted with his decision to choose Italy, where he now plays for the Fiorentina club.
"It's true that Carlo Ancelotti wanted to bring me to Madrid," said Gomez. "This interest made me proud, as well as my entire family."
"However, I started negotiating with Fiorentina and after careful consideration, I realized that choosing this club would be the right decision," added the German.
This season, Gomez has scored 2 goals in four matches played for Fiorentina.
