The Lithuanian national football team in Marijampolė gave a celebration to the football fans gathered there. In the 2014 World Cup qualifying match, the Lithuanians broke a series of seven consecutive losses. The hosts won 2-0 against the guests from Liechtenstein. This was the second victory of the team trained by Cs.Laszlo in fifteen matches.

The first victory was achieved against Liechtenstein, with the opponents also being defeated 2-0 in October of last year. Deivydas Matulevičius (18 min.) and Tadas Kijanskas (40 min.) stood out in these matches.

D. Matulevičius scored his second goal in two matches. He was the only one who scored on Friday in the match against Latvia.

In these matches, 18-year-old Gratas Sirgėdas made his debut. The Lithuanian youth team defender took to the field in the second minute of added time. He replaced D. Matulevičius, who scored a goal.
