Tension is boiling among this year's champions of Spain's board of directors: just two days after the club's medical director Jordi Mone resigns, today (Thursday) vice president Sandro Rosell and another board member, Jose Maria Bertomeu, have announced their departure from the club.
The reason for the resignation of all three board members is the same: disagreements with the club's president Joan Laporta.
As we reported earlier, resigning on Tuesday, J. Mones stated that J. Laporta has introduced a dictatorship at the club. Similarly, on Thursday, J.M. Bertomeu resigned, adding that a bizarre atmosphere has taken hold at the club: negotiations about advertising on shirts, ordered by J. Laporta, were so secretive that even the board members could not talk to each other about it.
Rosell, upon resigning, said that the board "lost its old spirit." "There is no longer mutual understanding in the board, only suspicions. We are no longer a real team (board members - ed.) and that saddens me," said Rosell.
