Press sources in Real Madrid revealed that the Spanish vice-champions should extend their contract with the team leader Cristiano Ronaldo this week.
AS reports that an agreement with the Portuguese has been reached until 2018, with only minor details left to be agreed upon.
The contract is worth 86 million euros (approximately 297 million litas).
Cristiano Ronaldo was previously linked to a return to Manchester United, but the player decided to stay in Madrid.
The forward will earn almost a million euros more per season than Barcelona's superstar Lionel Messi and is set to become the highest-paid footballer in Spain.
