G. Buffon: At the moment there is no tougher match than the Derby d'Italia © EuroFootball.com

"Juventus" goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, before the upcoming Italian derby, urges not to underestimate their future opponents.

Next Sunday, multiple Italian champions Juventus will clash with Inter Milan at the "San Siro" stadium.

In the Serie A championship, Juventus is currently marching without any mistakes, but the same can be said for Walter Mazzarri's team.

After the national team break, during which Italians secured their place in the 2014 World Cup, journalists from the newspaper "Tuttosport" interviewed the national team captain, who did not spare compliments for the "nerazzurri" team that underwent many changes this summer.

"We cannot make mistakes, so it is time to focus on the championship and the match against Inter. A tough battle awaits us. In fact, this match will be the most difficult we could play," Buffon's words quoted by "Tuttosport."

"At the moment, Inter is in good sporting form and lacks no enthusiasm, led by which they seek to consolidate their authority."

This summer, former Napoli coach W. Mazzarri took over the reins at Inter, replacing Andrea Stramaccioni who finished 9th with the team last season.

"They can repeat our achievements," Buffon reflected, recalling that Juventus finished 7th twice in a row before coach Antonio Conte took over and became Italian champions the past two seasons.

"There are similarities. They rebuilt the team and strengthened their ranks with a very good coach. This is another reason why they deserve respect."

"I don't know what a defeat would mean to them right now. Inter has just started a new and solid project, whose beginning will not be hindered by commitments in European tournaments. I don't think one loss would cause irreversible damage to them. We must win for ourselves, not to stop them," noted Buffon.
