The weekend was unsuccessful for Florence's "Fiorentina" team in the "Serie A" championship - the team did not win a single match for the first time in three games, and striker Mario Gomez suffered an injury.

The 28-year-old "Viola" newcomer collided with Cagliari goalkeeper Michael Agazzi and suffered a knee injury, which led the German out of the lineup for a month to six weeks.

The match between "Fiorentina" and "Cagliari" ended in a 1:1 draw - Florence's club had won both previous matches and now ranks third in the "Serie A" championship after three rounds.

"M.Gomez's injury will prevent him from playing for several weeks. Of course, the exact diagnosis will be clear after additional tests, but we can already say that he won't play for 3-4 weeks - that's an optimistic prognosis. If it turns out to be a more serious injury, he may have to miss up to six weeks without playing football," said Fiorentina's head of medical staff Manzuoli.

Another player from the Florence club, Juan Cuadrado, injured his shoulder in the match against Cagliari, but his injury is much milder and does not cause much concern for the medical staff.

"J.Cuadrado's injury is quite rare in football. It is a very painful thing, but the treatment does not take long. He will return to the field in a couple of weeks, or maybe even sooner," reassured the Viola medic.
