n Sunday, passions were boiling in Istanbul. The match between local clubs "Galatasaray" and "Beşiktaş" was interrupted by fans invading the field.

The incident was provoked by "Galatasaray" Brazilian player Felipe Melo. In the third minute of added time, the player committed a rough foul against a "Beşiktaş" player and received a red card. At that time, "Galatasaray" was leading 2:1.

Security clashed with the opponents, but managed to avoid a full-blown fight. However, F.Melo's rough play and his passionate behavior enraged the "Beşiktaş" fans. They tried to enter the field and clashed with the police.

Meanwhile, as F.Melo was leaving the field, he managed to further provoke the opposing fans. The player took off his shirt and waved it to the "Beşiktaş" stadium spectators. They, of course, were very displeased and threw objects at the security.

Soon the situation in the stands became uncontrollable. Referees interrupted the match and players dispersed into the locker rooms.

"Beşiktaş" fans began to dominate the field, with 68 thousand supporters gathering for the match. The police tried to control the angry fans with tear gas.

Throughout four matches, "Beşiktaş" had won all 12 points in the Turkish championship and still remains in first place. Meanwhile, "Galatasaray" is struggling and is only in tenth place with 6 points.
